We just learned that our beaver is not a beaver after all. He/ She is really a muskrat which is just like a beaver but without the flat tail. It finally came out of the water enough for us to see the tail and it was official, not a beaver. James was a little disappointed, but according to different websites he will be a good addition to our little pond helping to keep algae levels and plant over growth down. The ducks still don't like him much, but I guess they are going to have to get used to him because he definitely appears to be moving into the neighborhood!
