We had a long weekend of relaxing and visiting with friends and family. Thursday night, I went to a meeting of IEEE Savannah Section on wind power and the possibility of catching some power off of the SC/GA coast. It looks doable.
Friday night, Aunt Anna was still here from her Thursday visit because of "stormy weather" so we watched "Oceans 12." (There is a great trend between relatives visiting and us seeing movies that have come out in the last year that we haven't seen.) She also watched some musical with Jenny that she has been singing ever since.
Anna left on Saturday and we took the girls to the Cajun Festival on Hilton Head. Food was good but not worth the price. We spent 15 dollars on jambalaya and drinks and desert. Thanks to our friends Matt and Chris getting us free tickets we didn't have to pay for admission. I got a few cool pics of the old plantation barns while we were there.
Sunday, we went to spend the day in Statesboro with my folks. We went to Trinity, showed off babies, ate, napped, hung out and then made the trek back to South Carolina way.
BTW, for those of you who read this semi-regularly and don't know... we have an Odyssey now. Yup, bit the bullet and made the transition.

Grandy (Great-Grandy) with the twins!

Dad, Anna, and Mom after graduation.

Sophie isn't sure quite how to take anything anymore.

Emma likes to sleep, sometimes even when she is supposed to be getting ready to eat.

Pappy asleep with one of the twins.

Can you tell who is who? Jenny hasn't been able to, as of late.

Jenny's dad and stepmom have been here helping all week. They brought movies!! As I said, we watched
National Treasure, which I highly recommend. Then last night, (nothing ever good on TV on Wednesday) we watched
Lady Killers. Strange, strange movie, I'm not sure I would recommend it exactly. Not really sure why Tom Hanks did the movie to tell the truth.
Emma and Kate and Jenny are all doing well. They seem to be spending more and more awake time, whether its fully awake or just sortof awake but enough to make enough noise to keep me semi-awake all night.

Today was the day for our 4 week weigh in. The heavy weight is still Kate, though Emma is catching up quickly it seems. Kate weighed 6 lbs and Emma weighed 5 lbs 3.5 ozs today. Two weeks ago there was a pound difference between the girls and now Emma has begun closing that gap. I guess she doesn't like being the runt...

This weekend was a long one and yet it wasn't long enough. Friday after I got off of work, we all went to Statesboro. I went to Trinity's men's fellowship to hear Rev. Fender give the message. I was one of very few there. I was suprised. Mr. Keith cooked wild turkey fingers (thats like chicken fingers, Jenny, not like turkey filanges), fried deer, and stewed deer steak. Good food... good food. Then I had John drop me off at the house. I evidently missed some good food there too.
Saturday, Anna graduated with a Bachelor of Art(?) Degree in Early Childhood Education from
Georgia Southern University. I took some pictures and maybe I'll post them sometime soon.
Congrats Anna... now for your PhD!!!
Sunday, we slept until 1PM because Kate wanted attention from 1-4AM. Then Jenny's dad and Karol arrived for a week-o-fun with the hungry girls. We got about 30-40 minutes into the movie
National Treasure before the 9PM feeding time at the zoo.
Fun long weekend... but as always, it wasn't long enough.

A picture perfect moment, a dad with his little girls.

Sisters playing footsy.

Emma sleeping in mom's arms.

Kate sleeping.

Took these and photoshopped them at work... this was actually for work, too. Art for the sake of work. I think my excuse for art would hold its own at any modern art museum today.
An update on the girls... We pretty much all sleep and eat, well at least the three of us anyway poor James still has to manage to get up and go to work (I've noticed a lot more coffee being made than before the girls were here). Emma and Kate are slowly working towards our goal of sleeping through the night. We are at 4 hours in between night time feedings now and sticking to 3 hours during the day whether they think they are hungry or not. They are starting to also spend more time awake during the day. Haven't gotten to really play with them yet as they just kind of lay there when awake, but hopefully soon they will start to interact with toys and us more. So in all sleeping and eating really is a good summation of their day. I guess we should enjoy it while it lasts... I can only imagine the days ahead when crawling begins and everyone is going in very different directions.
