This past weekend Grammy and Pappy came up to visit. We went to the South Carolina State Fair and saw all the animals. It was decided that this was probably the biggest fair any of us had been too much bigger than Tallahassee's fair that I remember growing up. We didn't ride any rides as it would have cost 6 dollars just to ride the merry-go-round once... The girls loved seeing cows, pigs, sheep, petting zoo animals and more chickens and roosters than even I can imagine. The next day we learned a new love of the girls... Ketchup. Funny because it is something that I am not really fond of at all. They love it on everything. The pictures above are of them just learning to dip french fries. They would dip the fry suck off the ketchup then redip without really eating much of the fry. Talk about double dipping!! Since then we have dipped everything in ketchup. Seems to actually make Emma eat more if she can dip it though I really can't see how carrots and ketchup tastes good.

In other news the girls are getting over a cold that set in Sunday night. We went back to the doctor and Emma also still had her ear infection from a few weeks ago so we got stronger medication and hopefully this will do the trick. James also has been seeing the doctor a lot this week as they run some tests to figure out why he is having chest pain. He has a follow up next week so hopefully we will know more then. Posted by Picasa

Emma gave me a harmonica concert last night when I got home.  Evidently, she learned how to play while I was at work.  Yay Emma!!

I forgot to say that if you want to see my pics of St. Louis, they can be found on Flickr.

We got back from our tour of the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire Saturday
night. I had a blast although I think that the girls were very ready to
be home by the time we got home. Just a brief breakdown of the week. I
went to St. Louis last weekend for a conference (NANOG). Very cool
place to be... I flew from Columbia to St. Louis and then from there to
Savannah since Jenny and the girls were headed down there.

Wednesday, Emma had an appointment at the developmental clinic at
Memorial Health in Savannah. She passed her exams. Yay! We were given
some calorie booster for her to bulk up a little. She still weighs less
than she should but she is about as tall as she should be.

We hung out with David Wordlow and went to Crystal Beer Parlor for some
sirloin burgers and malts. Very cool place as always. Jenny and I both
thought it was funny that David has only lived there a few weeks and he
has already become more of an expert on Savannah than we were when we
lived in the area. Savannah is still a very cool place and Jenny and I
miss the city a lot.

Thursday, we hung out with the Statesboro clan. We took Anna and my mom
lunch up at TCS. We hit the WalMart for some supplies. Then hung out at
the house.

Friday I helped my dad put up a fence between the house and their rowdy
rental neighbors. Hopefully what we got done will keep the 4wheelers
and party trash on the other side of the fence. We worked until I was
about beat. It was good to spend time with my family.

Saturday we headed to Bluffton for Cris' baby shower. All the girls
stayed and Matt and I kayaked the May River. First time kayaker and
all.... Happy to say that I didn't tip it over. Its amazing to me that
we lived in Bluffton for a little over 3 years and it was the first time
I did that. I had a blast. That wore me out but it was a little more
engaging than the fence.

We went to Bluffton Barbeque to see the Huffmans and had some of the
best Que on earth. Ted's sauce rocks. We went to Beaufort to see Jenny
and KP. We hung out a little before heading down to the waterfront for
the shrimp festival. I must say that it was better than last year.
That might have been because of the company but I honestly think that it
was a much better turn out of vendors and artisans.

All in all, we had an awesome week of visiting. Jenny's Dad and Karol
are visiting this weekend and next weekend I think we are enjoying the
awesome fall foliage that comes with living around the beautiful rivers
of the SC midlands. Email us....

Can you get more patriotic? This is a picture of Emma as we waited for the Irmo Okra Strut Parade to start moving. We walked last weekend with Gov. Sanford and fellow supporters in the parade. Emma did the flag waving and Kate stole the show waving a good portion of the parade whenever someone sitting on the side would wave to her. She was a pro!! We even got applause as we went by because if they clapped Kate would clap. I'd have to say if you want to campaign effectively you ought to bring along a set of twins.

Just an update... not a real post because we are busy and should have
been in bed 51 minutes ago. Jenny sold my truck today. She's happy
because that means we don't have to pay taxes, insurance, gas, or any
other truck related expenses. Now we are back down to a 2 car family.
I leave Saturday for St. Louis and the North American Network Operators
Group conference. I hope to learn a lot about telecom and maybe make
some friends. Plus, I'll admit, I'm curious about what Beer and Gear
really is all about....
