What a fast week. Jenny and I wnet down to Tallahassee for the wedding. Jeff and Audra looked very happy to be married although I was told that Jeff looked scared at the end ( I guess I didn't notice ). We drove out to Gobbler Hill to have Christmas with Jenny's family and opened many, many presents.

Sunday, after church at Calvary OPC, we drove back up to SC for the work week before Christmas. We had another doctors appointment, where the doc/nurse practitioner said that everything was back to what she wanted to see. Jenny hasn't been having any little contractions since she went on half days at work. This must be proof that work is bad for you!!

Thursday, we began Christmas festivities. I worked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I got some sick time Thursday, and then I got Friday off for my Christmas holiday. Jenny had to work her usual half day on Thursday, then almost a half day on Friday before her boss sent her home. We went to Statesboro to see family and went to the Christmas Eve hymn sing at Trinity PCA. We opened presents around noon on Christmas and got lots of cool things for the girls including some toys and some Braves' onesies from Auntie Anna. And, my aunt and uncle got me a really cool Spyderco knife!!! Jenny and I still haven't opened our presents. But so far, we have had a very memorable Christmas.

Jenny was shocked that it took my family 2 hours to open our gifts. We love giving presents, more so that getting probably. Everyone spends time making sure they have something that represents how they feel for everyone else and its great that it isn't just a flurry of paper and ribbon that only lasts 5 minutes.

Jenny went to her appointment this morning. The nurse practitioner told her to only work mornings from now on. I think that was about what I expected from what I know of the situation. Evidently, things were good enough so that we were given permission to travel to Tallahassee this weekend for Jeff and Audra's wedding (a six hour trip).

I got a request to post a picture of Jenny that shows her face. So, as you can see, not a whole lot of pudge. :-) Jenny's gonna kill me. Heheheheh

Pregnant lady update: Jenny got a doctors appointment for 10am tomorrow. She has been complaining of general crampiness and non-interval contractions... which I after researching think (stupid non-medical computer engineer thoughts) are Braxton Hicks contractions. Of course, neither of us really have any idea, so she called our nurse practitioner. Evidently she's slightly concerned enough to call her into the office even though we had a scheduled appointment next week. Of course the appointment is Dec. 22 and that is the week of Christmas. I see this as a very good time to have one extra appointment. Next year, we start a whole new out-of-pocket max. She could have three appointments next week and I'd be good with it. Prayers are appreciated.

Jenny and I took a little day trip up to St. Helena's Island yesterday. Got some Gullah food, shopped a little Christmas shopping and visited the ruin of the Chapel of Ease built around 1790 I think I remember. We had fun... today, we are off to church then to a family reunion down in Dorchester, GA.

Well, we went out into the country and cut a tree last night from Lancaster Tree Farm in Levy. We got it all decorated with a little time to spare to talk to family. My grandmother called- we forgot to call with news of the variety of the twins and she found out from others in the family. I guess Jenny isn't the only one with baby brain.

Jenny and I have started a little tradition of getting fresh cut Western Red Cedars for our Christmas trees. They smell incredible. It filled the whole house with an evergreen scent which kicks the butts of all those orangy smelly Lowm Depoe trees.

So, we are beginning our (the four of us) the 19th week. The girls are moving more and crowding Jenny's abdomen... dancing on things and the like. Its all good though... reminds us that they are there. And they don't cry yet. Jenny says they like apple juice or anything with sugar because it usually wakes them up and they start kicking and doing gymnastics.

So, I didn't really have time around Thanksgiving to really make my list like I meant to. We went down to Tallahassee to see Jenny's family. Had lots of food with the folks. Oysters cooked in the Preston fashion. I guess its the Preston fashion... don't really know what else to call it. Anyway... things that I am thankful for:

A great wife
A house that we are paying off slowly
A good church
George W for four more years
2 healthy twin girls at 16.5 weeks
Cool gadgets
My Digital Rebel
My 88 pickup
No snow to shovel
Fall leaves
Talk radio
Jeff and Audra gettin' hitched
Good food
free radio stations
trips to new places
a red south
no debt
good doctors
Dilbert

We had our 2nd ultrasound today. Both girls were very healthy. We got to see every bone, both hearts, and even got to see their brains. Cool, but very relieving for the mom.
