The day we left we had a spaghetti picnic on the porch. Looking at this face though it seems we should have eaten in the yard for easier clean up!! Emma loves her pasta. Can you smile any bigger than that??

Here are a few pictures from our trip south to Florida for Thanksgiving. It was beautiful weather compared to the sleeting we left in South Carolina so we spent a lot of time playing outside. There wasn't anything to mow but we still played on the tractor anyway. It makes it even more fun as we are learning to say tractor and love to point them out when we see them!!
Today James surprised me... he set the alarm as usual and as it went off rolled over and told me that he really wasn't going in today that he had taken the day off. He already had the rest of the week off but this was a great surprise to me. I have always wanted him to surprise me and take a day off or come home early. I don't get the come home early very often and I've never gotten a day off that was unplanned.
Since we had an unplanned day we went to the zoo. Our favorite Columbia past time. Kate started cheering when we drove into the parking lot and she started screaming as we left later. We truly love the zoo, especially Kate. She even knows her way around. From one side of the zoo we said "Kate lets go see the fish" she picked up the pace and led us all there post haste! We also tried something new today -- a grocery store called Aldi. I have been wondering what it was since we moved here and found out from new friends at church that it is a discount grocery store. It was interesting. I am glad that we got the how to's from them before we went it would have been a little weird with out the info... like they don't bag your groceries you bring your own bags or can pay 10 cents a bag for one of theirs. Also you bring a quarter for a cart deposit and when you put your cart back in the rack you get your quarter back. The prices are good though I'm wondering if it really beats buying things on sale with coupons and getting double coupon deals at Bi Lo and Kroger... It was an experience though.

Kate has learned to give great hugs. Emma has learned how to recieve hugs but not to give them yet. We learned this the other day when Emma bit Kate and after punishing her I said "now give each other a hug" and to my shock and amazement they did just that. It is adorable to watch and they both think it is fun and funny at the same time. Can they always love each other this much? Can we skip the whole sibling fighting stage? I don't particularly know what it is like but I can imagine...
It is pictures like this that have always made me want a sibling. I'm glad that at least God provided three grown up sisters through marriage.
