Okay two more, they were just too cute not to share. These are adult sized sunglasses so they balance only by holding your face just the right way. For Kate that is scrunching up her nose and lips and for Emma it is freezing and not moving.

In honor of Memorial day I thought I would share some pictures of the girls "flying" vietnam era helicoptors at the Armed Forces Day event we went to last weekend. The loved it so much that after getting out of one helicoptor it was automatically requested to get into the next one. They had about 8 of them sitting there that you could go in and mess with buttons and what not. None of them were on or being noisy in anyway so it was very toddler friendly. They had a blast and still ask for helicoptors on a daily basis.

To all who are serving, have served and even died for our country, we remember your sacrifice!

We are back up! The website hosting company we had been with didn't notify us at all that our 3 year contract was ending. Who has a calender that far in advance to even know when that date would have been?? We have purchased another month with them to have time to backup everything and move it to a different company. No changes for any of you though still the same address. For me it was a bit stressful as we worried about losing three years of a family journal. Following the girls pregnancy and birth and the past two years with them, this has become their baby book.

Well have a good weekend. We are headed to a "open house" at Fort Jackson tomorrow with helicopters that you can get up close to and airplanes. The girls should enjoy it for a little while with their love for airplanes. As long as they aren't too loud we will be good.

Lots of pictures today... The top one is from a detour on the way home to Mount Airy NC home of Andy Griffith. We love the Andy Griffith show and most other old family type tv shows (currently we are on the 4th season of Hogan's Heros). James couldn't resist driving a little ways off the interstate just to see what was there.

These other two are from one of the playgrounds at the state park. They had a tall fun slide however the girls just enjoyed going up and down the stairs.

Here are other pictures as promised. These are from the vacation part of the trip where we took a detour on the way up and drove a portion of Skyline Drive part of the Shenandoah National Park. It was beautiful riding on the top of the mountain ridge and well worth the entrance fee and time. The drive follows a portion the Appalachian trail most of the way so we got out and walk a little ways on the trail just say we had. The girls loved the park and the drive and kept asking for "more mountains" at every overlook we came to. We also saw numerous deer right on the side of the road that girls loved too. How many two year olds can say they walked the Appalachian trail??

Just got pictures off the camera from the WV trip. I will put up more tomorrow but we had to share this one now. For anyone who has never ridden in a car with two -- two year olds then imagine with this picture a child saying the same word over and over again for 8 hours. If you have been in a car with at least two children then the picture needs no caption and you can enjoy with us the quietness of being back at home with the kids in bed.

Today was the first weekend home in over 4 weeks for the girls and I. It was a great day of hard work! We built a new planter to be a vege garden (its right next to the rose planter for anyone that knows our yard). And then James worked for a while building the stairs and platform up to the girls' slide. I doubt that either of us will be able to move tomorrow but it was great to get stuff done today. We have 12 tomato plants, 6 green peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and a splurge cantelope just to see what grows (something I would never buy in the grocery store but if one grew than we get to enjoy a treat). The girls enjoyed all of it. The big phrases we heard all day were "play dirt" -- Kate's version of planting plants and "new stairs" as the girls were thrilled with stairs James' added to the slide. They didn't want to slide just go up and down the stairs and Emma would go up with a bucket of water dump it down the slide and then go back down the stairs for more water. It truly is fun to watch them play and they are getting more and more imaginative in their play too. Kate has started taking toys and books under their art easel and making it a fort to play in and Emma tries to dress Bunny with bracelets, sunglasses and clothes. We hope you all had a Saturday filled with as much fun as ours!

For those of you who don't know, we are up in West Virginia.  We got here on Monday.  This county is very interesting.  No one has cell phone access.  But, DSL is available most everywhere.  Thats where I come in.  I'm doing some consulting for the telephone company up here.  Imagine living in a place where there is no cell phone service.  You have to have access to a landline to talk to anyone.  We are coming back today after a very quiet stay in a cabin in Lost River State Park without a television or a telephone or internet.  The nearest grocery is the gas station.  Got here and went to buy groceries only to realize that I had no cash.  So, I did find an ATM to get money from.  I think we have had fun but I know we will both be glad to be home.
