Another picture of Johnson Square, Savannah, looking toward City Market.

Johnson Square, Savannah, GA

Last weekend, we went to High Falls, GA on the way back from an IEEE conference on teacher in service programs. As you can see, Emma was sleeping even when the scenery was good!

Kate and Emma have both been smiling up a storm. Emma carried on a conversation with Jenny this weekend, she would talk after Jenny said "hey!!!" They are also fussy a lot lately.

Sorry folks, I know that we haven't posted in quite some time. The computer crashed and I had to replace the hard drive. Thats my 3rd 120 gig Western Digital that has crashed on me. I don't know what it is. I replaced my whole system because I thought it might be the processor, the main board, or possibly the power supply. I bought a APC UPS. I replaced floppy drives and cd roms. The only thing I haven't dealt with is the CD writer. Thats next because last night it seemed to be causing problems.

Anyway, pictures are soon to come.

These were supporting a porch. I think they were probably painted wrought iron but I'm not sure.

I think that this door was on the front of Christ Church.

This was while I was still enjoying Savannah enough to take pictures of things that struck my fancy. This is just a broken window on the side of an old building.

This celtic cross is a monument to Irish imigrants to the US. I'm a big sucker for celtic crosses and will probably take a picture of any and all that I come across (no pun intended).

Between Bay and River Street, thereis an old building that is used to be the Savannah Cotton Exchange. Its now the Freemason Hall. Think what you will... the griffin is very cool, nonetheless.

Before I left, I headed down to River Street. Evidently, the "Bounty" was docked and was giving tours. I don't know whether that is the HMS or USS or what, so think what you want! Posted by Picasa

Emma and Kate got an afghan from Aunt Audra last week. They seem to really enjoy it. I think more than anything, they enjoyed kicking it off of them when I put it over their feet. Posted by Picasa

Jenny sent me such a cute picture of the girls that I had to pass it on. They look like they don't quite know what they are doing! Posted by Picasa

Our family enjoyed the beach. Emma and Kate really didn't get to play that much. They didn't quite know what to do in the water. Emma was frightened the couple of times that the waves came in really fast. Kate didn't really get it the water much. Jenny and I spent a lot of time playing in the surf and my dad and I played as much bocce as time and sand would allow. All in all, work tried its hardest to keep good times down, but good times should always prevail!!! Posted by Picasa

So three weekends and 26 gallons of paint later the fence painting is finished. It is very white thats pretty much the only way to describe it. When the sun is out you want to be wearing sunglasses or else you are blinded.

James' family is here for the week staying on Hilton Head so the girls have now had their first and second trip to the beach. We put their feet down in the surf and they seemed to enjoy it. Emma liked watching the waves coming in. Kate however got a little drenched by one wave (and me) she took it well... even though she had to wear her wet clothes for a little while :) We have pictures taken by Aunt Ellen they are not digital though so we have to wait for developing and then will post them.
