Emma always seems to have a puzzled look on her face. She used to pose for the camera.

Kate loves sticking her tongue out lately.

This is a picture of where we will be living for the next three months. The entire upstairs will be ours. It has hardwood floors throughout, a cute little dining room with built in shelves and worknig fireplace. I'm excited about it... if it were a house on the market I would buy it!! Sadly it is in a highly desirable neighborhood that we cannot afford to purchase in, but at least we can enojy renting there for a few months.
This weekend was fun and a little bizzarre at the same time. We went to Columbia Friday night to make preperations for the big move. We got up there after dark and somehow (I think by sheer luck) Jenny found the hotel. We definately went through the ghetto to get there. Saturday, we got up and checked out of the hotel and went to look at places to lease for a little bit while we sell the house. The first place we saw was the choicest location. I think Jenny planned it that way. After we got through looking there, we looked at a few less great choices. It rained from the time we started looking until we got home. Its not fun shopping for apartments or travelling in the rain.
We got home at a reasonable time. We passed a huge backup on the interstate. Thankfully, we were going the opposite direction. Traffic was backed up for 11 miles or so. Jenny was counting. I didn't really care how far it was just as long as we weren't at the back of the line. Been there before and it wasn't very fun.
Sunday, we went to church in Pooler. We ate lunch with the Powell's before leaving for some nursing visits that Jenny had to make. One of the hardest things about this move is going to be leaving friends behind and going to a place with very few friends. We did make night service this week. That was about the extent of our weekend. Hope everyone else had fun. Pictures to come, I promise!!

For those of you who don't know or haven't heard... I have accepted a job in Columbia, SC, working for a company called Spirit Telecom. I'm very excited about the opportunity. We are sticking our house on the market. We'll be moving on the 11th. We will update folks with our new address as soon as we have one officially.

While Emma played in the basket Kate got a hold of the newspaper. Good thing the paper is free cause you really can't read it once she gets through with it. The best is to play the "Where's Kate" game with the paper on her head. Thats the favorite game in the house here lately.
The other day James put Emma in the basket for a minute. She absolutely loved it. She kept grabbing onto the handle and acting like she was trying to steer it... or thats what it seemed to us anyway. The girls are officially 10 months old today. I weighed them the other night... Emma weighs 12.5 pounds and Kate weighs 14 pounds. We are still wearing 0-3 month clothes though. Who knows maybe we will get a second summer out of the same clothes.

Rule to live on: if there are tea bags on top of the work fridge and you don't remember buying them, chances are they were there before you. I made a batch of sweet tea yesterday. You know how if tea sits in the fridge too long it kinda gets a little on the nasty side? Well, this stuff took like 5 minutes to do that after you poured it. I took a sip out of the water bottle I used to make it in and it tasted fine. I poured it into the cup, it tasted fine. I took it back to my desk and took a sip and it tasted rank... ranker and ranker in fact.
Enough of that. Last night was spent updating a laptop for a friend and watching a very gruesome CSI. Jenny wouldn't watch much of it because it dealt with eyeballs.
Today, we have a lunch date planned. Think its probably going to be a indoor "picnic," which just means eating out somewhere, I guess. Our normal park is closed on account of the fact that it froze last night. Hmm... how do you sign off on a blog. To quote Barney Fife, "Roger, Wilco, over and out."

Last night, I braved the bitter cold and sat outside, took apart two string trimmers and completely disassembled a weedeater blower. I also have almost gotten the blower that I was trying to fix completely ready to attempt starting it. I put "new" fuel lines in, picked my carburetor to try, I even put in a fuel filter on the end of line in. I hope it works when I try it but I haven't spent a dime yet so I've lost nothing but a few hours of my time.

Comments have been made that James' last post was confusing let me see if I can shed a little light on it... I am married to a man who finds great fun in bringing home "treasures" from the dump. He always has the hopes of fixing them to make them work... in that past this has brought to us... a bowling ball with bag, numerous over head projectors ( one of which did end up working) and the latest was a leaf blower that wasn't working. So James put an ad (free) in the paper for old weed eaters and blowers to see if he could get any that he could take parts from... that brings us to his comment. Someone finally called and now the plan (his plan) for the next few evenings is play with the accumulating "treasures" to see if from many not working ones, one working one can be made. Sounds like a philosophy or math problem...
So, a guy called me this morning to ask me whether I wanted some old string trimmers and a blower. I went and picked them up. I picked up an old blower and I know it works because I picked up some ether from the auto parts store. But, it has no carburetor, so I went looking for a free carburetor to match my free leaf blower. Finally got a hit, now to see whether I can make a 30cc engine carburetor work for a 40cc engine.... hmm...

So, this weekend, I had my first birthday party in years. I guess it was just an excuse to have folks over. We love having people over to hang out. Usually, we do it one to two at a time but this time we just invited everyone we thought would come. I think everyone had fun. Julian came down from Augusta. Folks came up from Savannah. My folks came over from the 'Boro. The Praters came down from Beaufort. I grilled burgers (more like burned burgers). I got some pretty cool gifts too (even though people weren't supposed to bring gifts). My folks gave me clothes, coffee stuff, and a Darth Tater. The Powells gave me the movie
Luther on DVD. And the Praters got me some really good stuff. ;-) Thanks to everyone for coming and having fun.
Now, back to work. Its Tuesday morning and it really doesn't feel much different than a Monday does. Maybe Laura Ingram will keep me in stitches today.

Okay, I don't remember what this one is called but its still pretty cool.

For good measure, this is the last Jellyfish of the day. Enjoy...

These are more pictures from the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, CA.

There were no divers in the tank with these guys... for good reason I guess.

Jellies are cool.
