Saturday, the girls and I went to the Bluffton Christmas parade. That's
right folks, it was a Christmas parade and not a holiday parade. "No elves
were killed in the naming of this parade." Boortz has said this week that
every time someone says Happy Holidays an elf dies!! I'm not sure that the
girls liked it especially but I had fun. Jenny was making visits or she'd
have come with us. After she got home we went to go pick a Christmas tree.
We bought it and then went to Mrs. Harriet's 80th birthday party in Port
Wentworth. Nice party. I think it was a semi-surprise party where people
from all over came. She even had guests from Bluffton!

After the party, we went and cut our tree. We got it home and I hacked off
about one and a half feet off the top. We got a tree that was a little
bigger than our ceiling so that it would be a bit fuller. Unfortunately, I
broke the star. We decorated it with white lights and ornaments given and
collected over the past three years. Its our fourth tree of married life
and it's the girls first tree. Interestingly enough, when we hold them up
to the tree, its usually the tree that interests them and not the ornaments.
That is good and bad. We got a western red cedar which is extremely
prickly. I had red prick marks all around my wrists after setting the tree
and stand inside. Hopefully the girls will learn quickly not to play with
the tree. Originally, Jenny was concerned about them getting into things
and bringing the tree down on top of them. But, it is big enough and they
are light enough where they could probably climb it before it would fall on
them!

We went to Beaufort last night to celebrate Koutsunis' birthday... He's an
old man now. We got a grand tour of their new place. The Jenny's had a
mini pampered chef party in the kitchen. KP and I discussed astrophysics
and how it pertained to the age of the universe while the women cooked
dinner. His newest studies are that of creation vs. evolution. We also
discussed work, which is a definite must when guys are together, even if
it's just a "eh, its work" comment.

It's raining today. Has been for as long as I remember being awake this
morning.

It's seemed like a pretty regular length week this week. At the same time,
I have a hard time believing it's Thursday. Jenny's on call again this
weekend. We have dinner plans with the Richardson's and lunch plans with
the Warfield's.
