We got back from our tour of the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire Saturday
night. I had a blast although I think that the girls were very ready to
be home by the time we got home. Just a brief breakdown of the week. I
went to St. Louis last weekend for a conference (NANOG). Very cool
place to be... I flew from Columbia to St. Louis and then from there to
Savannah since Jenny and the girls were headed down there.
Wednesday, Emma had an appointment at the developmental clinic at
Memorial Health in Savannah. She passed her exams. Yay! We were given
some calorie booster for her to bulk up a little. She still weighs less
than she should but she is about as tall as she should be.
We hung out with David Wordlow and went to Crystal Beer Parlor for some
sirloin burgers and malts. Very cool place as always. Jenny and I both
thought it was funny that David has only lived there a few weeks and he
has already become more of an expert on Savannah than we were when we
lived in the area. Savannah is still a very cool place and Jenny and I
miss the city a lot.
Thursday, we hung out with the Statesboro clan. We took Anna and my mom
lunch up at TCS. We hit the WalMart for some supplies. Then hung out at
the house.
Friday I helped my dad put up a fence between the house and their rowdy
rental neighbors. Hopefully what we got done will keep the 4wheelers
and party trash on the other side of the fence. We worked until I was
about beat. It was good to spend time with my family.
Saturday we headed to Bluffton for Cris' baby shower. All the girls
stayed and Matt and I kayaked the May River. First time kayaker and
all.... Happy to say that I didn't tip it over. Its amazing to me that
we lived in Bluffton for a little over 3 years and it was the first time
I did that. I had a blast. That wore me out but it was a little more
engaging than the fence.
We went to Bluffton Barbeque to see the Huffmans and had some of the
best Que on earth. Ted's sauce rocks. We went to Beaufort to see Jenny
and KP. We hung out a little before heading down to the waterfront for
the shrimp festival. I must say that it was better than last year.
That might have been because of the company but I honestly think that it
was a much better turn out of vendors and artisans.
All in all, we had an awesome week of visiting. Jenny's Dad and Karol
are visiting this weekend and next weekend I think we are enjoying the
awesome fall foliage that comes with living around the beautiful rivers
of the SC midlands. Email us....
